I updated my wireless router and needed to update my xbox 360 wireless adapter as well. This adapter is awesome, the speed almost doubled with this adapter versus the old one.
Struggled for a few hours but once I got in touch with D-Link support and discovered my D-Link Wireless Router needed its Firmware updated. This adapter works wonderfully. Once this was done then the device came up immediately.Be careful to have your wireless routers firmware current BEFORE trying to connect this device to your wireless network.
It costs half as much as the microsoft official adapter and is twice as fast. The whole set-up took less than 5 minutes and I was up and running. I couldn't be happier. This product worked perfectly with the X-box 360. I just plugged it in and configured it through the X-box 360 console. I am using a Belkin wireless router and it worked perfectly.
The unit is very compact and isn't much bigger than a deck of cards. Setup on a security enabled network involves plugging the unit into a computer and manually configuring the computer's TCP/IP settings before you can get to the configuration screen to input your security key.Hooking it up to an Xbox or on an unsecured network would probably have been much easier. After that I just plugged it into my receiver's ethernet port and it was immediately recognized. It's an excellent low-cost way of getting any ethernet equiped device hooked up to a wireless network. I got this to hook my satelite receiver up to the internet. Setup was a pain and I wound up resetting my router's wireless security to get it to work. Overall I'm very pleased with the way it works.
Now that it is configured it has been working fine. I had great difficulty setting up the parameters for AT&T wireless, very frustrating. The distance is a little short though.
